       Sage of The Eldark centers on the question of whether Hepthe will uncover the truth behind the Vecradian Devil and the collapse of the Republic, or whether he will become yet another pawn in the eternal struggle between prophecy and power. It is meant to chronicle the experiences of Hepthe the insurrectionist, hunted by a monstrous force born of his own sins, who seeks refuge in the desert hermitage of a sage-historian, his mission to awaken the old man to truth, prophecy, and rebellion, to raise hope against the iron rule of Emperor Bolgud and his sorcerous ally, Zuphagen.

 

      The story's mission focuses on the need for hope, devotion, and desperate rebellion in the face of iron rule and dark magic. It describes how the sands of fate shift when Bolgud, long possessed by ambition and bloodlust, encounters something unexpected: love, and with it, the fragile possibility of redemption.
